The Mayor of Tirana, ErionVeliaj, together with the CEO of Credins Bank, Mr. Maltin Korkuti introduced the implementation of the “Orbital Forest” project. Tirana Municipality, via Agency of Parks and Recreation, continued with the planting of 150 trees in the dry lake area, thanks also to the contributions made by private donors. In the framework of social responsibility and care for the environment and the community programme, Credins Bank joined in the implementation of this project. From an area once used as a landfill for urban and inert waste, the area nearby the Dry Lake dam is being transformed into a small forest. Tirana Municipality, via Agency of Parks and Recreation, in the light of “Orbital Forest” project implementation, continued with the planting of 150 trees in this area, thanks also to the contributions made by private donors. The mayor of Tirana, ErionVeliaj, praised the fact that not only state institutions, but also entrepreneurs and private individuals have become part of this great action plan. “We’re embracing the southern ring, so we’re following the whole ring trail to make sure the greening on both sides; the side of the lake, which we actually accomplished most of the year, and the side of LiqeniiThatë, which is being carried out this year. Naturally, the Orbital Forest is a gigantic project, which will probably continue after our mandate in the municipality, but we have to start today. The best time to plant a tree was yesterday, the second-best time is today. So, I’m glad that with these 150 trees planted, we are greening a wasteland that used to be an inert point,” said the mayor of Tirana. Credins Bank CEO, Maltin Korkuti, while welcoming the initiative of the Municipality of Tirana to include businesses in transforming the city greener, highlighted that it is a moral obligation for everyone to contribute to projects that improve the quality of life for the citizens. “With the invitation form the Municipality, we are joining today this highly interesting project for environment of our city.
