In most cases, you can complete the switch within a few business days, depending on your current bank and the services you use.

2. Can I open an account online?

Not entirely. You can begin the application online, but you’ll need to visit a Credins branch with an ID to complete the final steps. Once open, you can access your account fully through Credins Online — available 24/7.

3. Will Credins help me transfer payments and debits?

Absolutely. We can guide you through moving your salary, direct debits, and any recurring payments.

4. What documents do I need to open an account?

A valid ID and proof of address are usually all you need. For certain accounts, additional documents may be required.

5. Is there a fee to switch or open an account?

No, there’s no fee to switch to Credins or to open any of our standard individual accounts.

Basic Account with Essential Banking Services

A Basic Account is a payment account designed for personal use, giving you access to key banking services free of charge — both online and at Credins branches.

What’s Included in the Basic Account?

The account is offered in Albanian Lek (ALL) and provides access to the following services:

  • Money management and payment transactions
 (via online banking and in-branch service)
  • Cash withdrawals and deposits at Credins branches
  • Physical and virtual transactions at ATMs and POS terminals
  • Utility payments, direct debits, periodic payments
  • Transfers within Credins accounts or to other banks within Albania
  • A free debit card linked to the account

Note: This account cannot be linked to credit or overdraft products.

How to Open a Basic Account

To open a Basic Account, simply visit any Credins Bank branch with:

  • A valid identity document
  • Proof of your eligibility (see below)
  • Completion of the application form and required documentation

This account is available to consumers who meet certain criteria defined under Law no. 100/2023 on Payment Accounts with Basic Services. Eligible individuals may include:

  • Pensioners
  • Unemployment benefit recipients
  • Student grant recipients
  • Other as defined by law

This account is intended for consumers who do not already hold the same type of account with another bank in Albania.

Zero-Fee Features

For eligible customers, the Basic Account includes the following services free of charge:

  • Account opening
  • Money maintenance
  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals (Including ATM withdrawals)
  • Direct debit payments
  • Debit card issuance and in-country use
  • Periodic and interbank withdrawals
